metabolism pen (MP1)
By the aid of the metabolism pens experimental substances
can be supplied to the organism of the experimental animals in a naturtal
way with fooder or drink water.
The effect can be measured by analysing the product of
meabolism which are separated in the device illustrated here.
A. Self-watering Device
B. Self-feeder Device
C. Treadgrating readgrating
D. Collector Pen
A. Self-watering Device
Experimental animals may be fed with two types of devices, within the
metabolism pen. By means of the devices granulated fooder pressed to size
or an active ingredient admixed to the fooder can be fed. Active ingredients
which cannot be subjected to a heat treatment are fed in a pulvericed
or fatty form, or as to the animals.
B. Self-feeder Device
During the experiment watering is ferformed with the self-watering device
having been provided with a liquid meter measuring water consumption.
By means of the equipment drink water, liquid active ingredient or the
aquaeous solution
thereof, resp.gas absorbed in a liquid can be supplied. The equipment
separates the products of metabolism of the animals into calibrated vessels,
which can be used for the implementation of measurments needed for the
experiments.
C. Treadgrating readgrating
In course of the experiment the animal on the treadgrating eats and drinks
according to necessity, in a measurable quantity. The experiment and urine
are not mixed either with fooder or drink water.
D. Collector Pen
By the application of the metabolism pen experimental substances can be
supplied in the required quantity products of metabolism are separated purely, in a measurable form.
